  • Google Toolbar: An excellent browser toolbar that has many mini-analytics of websites while browsing

  • Marketleap Link Popularity Checker – This link popularity checker will show how many sites link to you for each search engine. It can also show you the number of sites that link to your competitors. They also have a neat feature that shows the growth or decline in your link popularity over time.

Keywords

  • Wordtracker: Great for doing keyword analysis, the process of discovering the search keywords what your patrons use to find what you sell.
  • SpyFu Kombat: An interesting tool that allows you to find out what keywords your competitors are both using. Visual interface makes it slick. Paid subscribtion option (you can use part of the tool for free).

Building Social Networks

  • http://snitch.name/: A tool for search for someone by name across many social networks, and adding them as a ‘friend’ all at once.
  • Google Mobile Site Preview: Shows you how your website might be viewed if viewed by a mobile phone.

Staying Connected

  • FeedMyInbox.com: A great tool for dropping information about anything into your email inbox without you lifting a finger. Works with blogs, RSS feeds, and even ‘normal web pages’ that change information regularly.

Competitor Analysis

  • Site Profile by Compete: A tool for analyzing competitors’ sites for traffic and other information. You can actually get some traffic information from competitors, here!

  • ZoomInfo: Probably one of the most socially connected talent finders I have ever seen.
